REDIC DEBATE WINS

On June 6th, Ericka Redic was the clear leader of the Republican Primary debate co-hosted by WVPR and Vermont PBS. Also present were Anya Tynio and Liam Madden, an Independent who plans to reject the nomination if he wins in August.

Redic demonstrated a firm grasp of an array of issues from gun control to energy independence and the importance of supporting American families. “These tragedies are a reminder of the actual human cost of child neglect, of addiction, and broken families”, she said after sharing that her cousins were enrolled in a high school in Littleton CO at the time of the Columbine shooting. Of particular note was her suggestion to not seal the records of juveniles with a history of violence, as this would have prevented the shooter in Uvalde from passing the background check. Redic’s message of the need to support families and maintain local control of education and expenditures was articulated in her trademark style of direct, plain-spoken answers to difficult questions.

We anticipate another strong performance at the VTDigger debate on 6/28 at 6pm at the Double E Performance Center in Essex. Get your tickets here.
